Overview

The MANILA TO BAGUIO 250K (M2B250K) Ultra Marathon Road Race is a single-stage road race. This is a SOLO supported run.  Runner-participants will run along the Macarthur Highway and Kennon Road covering a total distance of 250 kilometers between KM 0 in Manila to KM 250 at Rizal Park, Baguio City. 

There will be NO AID STATIONS along the route


RACE RULES AND REGULATIONS


RUNNER-PARTICIPANT RULES


 

  1. Drop Bags are NOT ALLOWED.
  2. All runner-participants must have ONE Support Vehicle and a support crew.  However, runner-participants with a support vehicle can “adopt” ONLY ONE other runner-participant.
  3. Pacers are NOT ALLOWED.
  4. Runner-participants should ALWAYS run SINGLE FILE.  Running abreast with other runner-participants or support crew is NOT ALLOWED. 
  5. Runner-participants should always stay on the farthest left side of the road facing the oncoming traffic.  The race route traverses OPEN ROADS and runner-participants will share the road with other vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.  Runner-participants should always be vigilant of their surroundings and be alert to vehicles in front and behind.
  6. Runner-participants are NOT ALLOWED to enter their parked Support Vehicle once the Race starts.  Runner-participants should bring a stool, portable chair, or folding bed, positioned outside their Support Vehicle (within the view of other runner-participants and roving race marshals) if they intend to sit or lie down. 
  7. Runner-participants are NOT ALLOWED to sit or lie on any part of their Support Vehicle.

If a runner-participant violates these rules, the runner-participant(s) WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.


SUPPORT VEHICLE RULES


 

  1. Support vehicles should ALWAYS park on the FAR-RIGHT side of the Highway / Road. 
  2. Support Vehicles shall NOT BE ALLOWED to “shadow” their runner-participant.  “Shadowing” is when a Support Vehicle follows closely along directly behind or in front of their runner-participant at the same pace of the runner-participant. 
  3. Only four-wheeled vehicles are allowed as Support Vehicles. 
  4. Only the NAME of Running Group or Team’s Name of the runner-participant will be displayed on the runner-participant’s Support Vehicle.
  5. Corporate Brands will not be allowed to be displayed on the runner-participant’s Support Vehicle.
  6. Runner-participants are required to display three (3) tarpaulins with the words “RACE IN PROGRESS” on the front-side, rear-side and the left-side of their Support Vehicle.  Race Organizer will provide such tarpaulins to support crews prior to the commencement of the race.  It is the runner-participant and their support crew’s responsibility to have the required items to affix these tarpaulins to their Support Vehicle.

If a Support Vehicle violates these rules, the runner-participant(s) WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

EMERGENCY INCIDENTS OR DNF REPORTS


 

In case of emergency and / or reports of DNF, the runner-participant or their support crew should CALL Cell Phone # 0918-923-5800 and provide the following information:

  • Name of the Runner-Participant
  • Race Bib Number of the Runner-Participant
  • Location of the Runner-Participant
  • Nature of Emergency or Reason for Declaring DNF

SUPPORT VEHICLE AND CREW INFORMATION REQUIREMENT


 

Prior to the race start, runner-participants with a Support Vehicle must submit to the Race Organizer the following details:

  • Make / Model of Support Vehicle
  • Color of Support Vehicle
  • Plate Number of Support Vehicle
  • Number of Support Crew to ride in the Support Vehicle
  • Full Name and Cell Phone Number of Support Crew Members

START LINE INFORMATION


 

Registered runner-participants are advised to bring their Race Pass to the Starting Area on Race Day and this will be used to redeem their Race Packet / Race Bib.


OTHER RUNNER-PARTICIPANT INFORMATION


 

It is the responsibility of the runner-participant to inform, advise, and instruct his / her designated Support Vehicle DRIVER and SUPPORT CREW on the Rules and Regulations of this Race.

Runner-participants are reminded of the presence of dogs along the course.  Take precautionary measures when dealing with them.

Runner-participants are also reminded to interact politely to the locals and greet them as you pass.


RUNNER-PARTICIPANT ENTITLEMENTS


 

All runner-participants will receive a Race Event Shirt.

Podium Finishers’ Awards / Trophies will be given to the Top 3 Overall Finishers.

Official Finishers (Finishers within the Cut-off time of 50 hours) will be awarded with:

  • Finisher’s Belt Buckle
  • Finisher’s Medal
  • Finisher’s Certificate

RACE CUT-OFF TIMES


 

The prescribed cut-off time for the race is 50 hours.  However, there will be intermediate cut-off times along the route at the following checkpoints:

  • Kilometer #50–10 hours
  • Kilometer #100–20 hours
  • Kilometer #150–30 hours
  • Kilometer #200–40 hours
  • Kilometer #250–50 hours

DID NOT FINISH (DNF) DECLARATION


A runner-participant is declared Did Not Finish (DNF) once he / she could NOT pass any checkpoint within the prescribed cut-off time.  The runner-participant will not be allowed to complete the course once he / she is declared DNF in the race.

Entry Requirements

Due to the easily accessible area of the route, there are no strict mandatory event entry requirements.  However, we “strongly” recommend the following minimum race experience:

The minimum age for runners to register for this race is 18 years of age on race day.
We recommend that runners have officially finished at least one 100 km or longer road race before entering this race.

Mandatory Gear

ALL MANDATORY GEAR must be CARRIED AT ALL TIMES by a runner-participant’s support crew.  This is for the safety of all runner-participants.  Compliance checks will be conducted as follows:

  • Pre-event start line mandatory gear check.
  • Random unannounced check at a location during the event.
  • Finish line gear check.

The following are required:

  • Cellular phone that:
    • Is fully charged.
    • Is always switched on.
    • Is not set to airplane mode.
    • Is installed with local Philippine SIM card (Globe or Smart).
    • Contains at least Php200 of load credit on the SIM card.
    • If you need an external battery to last for at least 50 hours without charging, then this also forms a part of your mandatory gear.
  • Reflectorized vest.
  • Wind breaker.
  • First aid kit with the following minimum items:Povidone-Iodine Prep Pad (4 pieces).
    • Alcohol Prep Pad (4 pieces).
    • Small Medical Scissors.
    • Gauze Pads (Sterile) (3″ x 3″ x 8 ply – 2 pieces).
    • Medical Waterproof PU Film Adhesive Tape (10 cm x 10 cm – 2 pieces).
    • Waterproof Medical Sterile Wound Dressing (10 cm x 10 cm – 2 pieces).
    • Disposable Nitrile Gloves (1 pair).
    • Emergency/Survival Blanket.

NOTE: First Aid kit containing ALL mandatory items can be purchased during online race registration, or on-site during race kit collection.

  • Functioning flashlight or headlampWith at least 22 hours of battery life (or extra batteries)
  • Rear blinker (red color only)
  • Hydration equipmentAt least 1.5L capacity
  • Extra food to last at least 4 hours
  • Cash of at least Php1,000 per runner-participant. 

Missing Mandatory Gear Penalties

Penalties may include time-based addition to a runner-participant’s finish time OR disqualification, at the discretion of the Race Director.
